Spiritual Health

It is important to know the Word. The same way to be an expert you need to KNOW as your field, it is the same with Christianity. Similarly to how doctors use the term that they practice because they are always in a place of learning, is the same way how Christianity works. We will always be learning and getting to know more. Start to learn but not only to know but to understand. The Holy Spirit MUST be the One who brings all revelation and truth as you read. 

Do not interpret the Word for yourself and within your own strength rely on Him. 

11 He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables 12 so that,

“‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
    and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’

Mark 4:11-12

Someone said not forgiving is like drinking poison and expecting the next person to die. It also hinders us from being forgiven by God. Release and forgiven because vengeance belongs to God.

25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” 

Mark 11:22-26

Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;

Their foot shall slip in due time;

For the day of their calamity is at hand,

And the things to come hasten upon them.’ 

Deuteronomy 32:35

Truthfully let us not fool ourselves. If we don't do things in love we are NOTHING!

 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit. 

4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 

6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

Spiritual warfare is real and we have an enemy that does not like us. Allow God to show you the areas in your life that are under oppression and attacks from the enemy. He will teach you strategies to overcome. Speak to your church leaders as well for support.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Because you have rejected knowledge,

I also will reject you from being priest for Me;

Because you have forgotten the law of your God,

I also will forget your children. 

Hosea 4:6

13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 

1 Corinthians 10:13

There are different types of fasts and different reasons for fasting. Allow God to show you what He would have you do and reach out to your leaders for direction as well. 

16 “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
